Walking the line

My name is Jonathan Harker, that’s the name they gave me in the orphanage. I don’t know where I am from and I don’t know who my parents are. I just know my name and that the nuns found me on the orphanage’s doorstep with my pendant.
My eyes are multicolored and my pendant tends to glow when I am wearing it hence the holy sisters were worried I might be a child of the darkness. One thing I can tell you for sure: You don’t want to have a start like this when you are growing up in an orphanage run by nuns. They kept throwing away the pendant but it always turned up in my cradle the next day. Like it was homing in on me or something like that. I tried the same thing once, threw it into the Thames. Next morning it was lying on my pillow and I have no idea how it got there and when.
As I grew up I noticed that I was different from the other kids. Aside from my oddly colored eyes I was faster and much more agile than everyone else, easily climbing the highest trees and even the outside of our chapel. Imagine my surprise when I fell down from there and did not even break a single bone. I’m not invincible or something and I bleed when I am cut but I can fall from certain heights and obviously do the cat thing. I just land safely. By that time I was sixteen I was still not adopted plus the nuns were increasingly leery of the devil’s child and so I decided it was time to leave the stage.
What can I say? I ran and I have been running ever since. Turns out I’m not the devil’s child at all since I’m far from being the only supernatural being in town. Vampires, Lycans, witches, demons, you name it. The place is crawling with all kinds of supernatural shit and I’m just a tiny fish in the big pond. Well not quite so tiny since I never managed to find someone like myself. Made myself a name as a cat burglar, my talents certainly come in handy. You want something I can get it for you, if the money is right that is. Nothing in life is for free you know.
So I keep running without knowing where and towards what. The night is my world. I don’t know if I am evil or good, I don’t know if something like this even exists in this world of grey tones and predators roaming the dark. I just know that I won’t stop running until I found what I am looking for. Whatever that might be…

Title refers to him not knowing what or who he is and if he is "evil" or "good", also showing in his black and white bracers and the two differently colored shoes.
