Dreams of a better tomorrow

The trio sat atop the steam plant, watching as the golden rays of the sun fought their way through the ever present mists of London.
"That was a fun night." Syl remarked idly with a pleased air.
"For you maybe." Jaelyn replied tartly. "I'm still sore!"
"That's because you try too hard." the satyr remarked playfully. "If you'd let me do it you wouldn't get so banged up!"
Jaelyn snorted. "Oh yeah, mister stealth over here with hooves and all."
"Why Jael," Syl said. "I'm hurt."
Jaelyn laughed. "And I'm a nun."
Syl's eyes lit up. "Oh that's dirty." he looped over at Valorian. "You think we could find some nuns? I feel a bit sacrilegious suddenly."
"Good luck." Valerian replied dryly. "No Catholics allowed remember?"
Syl frowned and sighed as if he'd just been denied some succulent treat as he looked out over the Thames quietly.
Jaelyn leaned forwards and looked out over the waking city longingly.
"I wish we could just get away from it all." she murmured.
"We will." Valerian said, looking up as a skiff flew overhead. "Some day we'll get out of here and never look back."
"Will there be nuns?" Syl asked eagerly.
Jaelyn turned and growled at him and the satyr held up his hands at the felinae's bared teeth. "I have my priorities."
Jaelyn rolled her eyes and looked up at Valorian. "Promise me Val, promise you'll take us away from here."
"I promise." he said easily.
