Consumite Furore

Bookcover style version of my pic of my OC River Asher. I got the idea for his story while playing the awesome 1996 Adventure "Phantasmagoria" by Sierra, the basic setting is similar to the one of my story and the title is based on the amazing theme song of the game which you can listen to here: [link]

River is an award winning horror novelist with a strong fascination for the supernatural who moves into an old mansion in the rural countryside of England with this longterm partner Graham. Graham just suffered heavy burn-out syndrom and since they both aren't short when it comes to money they buy Darkwater Manor, a secluded house in which no one lived for nearly 100 years, only the caretaker and his wife made sure it was always ready for new inhabitants. Graham hopes to find some peace in the quite environment while repairing some things here and there, taking long walks and so on. People in the nearby village of Rose Hill only whisper about Darkwater Manor where according to local myth loving husband Andreas de Balzant killed his wife and young daughter along with several servants. River digs deeper into the history of the house, stumbles through secret passageways and long locked chambers, followed by gruesome visions of the house's dark past and finally opens a door which should better have stayed securely locked. And he unleashes something which turns the events towards tragedy.
